Behavioural Management Policy Template
A behavioural management policy template committing to a working environment free from harassment, bullying, victimisation and aggression.
The policy has Approved By and Date Approved fields and carries a Public information classification, so it can be shared with workers, clients and other interested parties.
What the Behavioural Management Policy Covers
- Bullying - offensive, intimidating, malicious or insulting behaviour, whether a single incident or a pattern
- Harassment - unwanted behaviour that violates dignity or creates an offensive environment, irrespective of intent
- Aggression - actions that may physically or psychologically harm another person, including verbal abuse
- Victimisation - disadvantage because someone has complained, or supported someone else's complaint
- Employees' responsibility - not to bully, harass, victimise or behave aggressively, with disciplinary action for violations
- Raising concerns - with a line manager or senior management, or through the grievance procedure, including witnesses
- Investigation - prompt, fair and as confidential as possible
- No victimisation - for raising a complaint or taking part in an investigation
Written to Be Shared
Like every alphaZ policy, this is written as a public policy statement that can be shared openly with workers, customers, suppliers and assessors. The internal detail of how it is carried out belongs in your procedures.
Using the Policy
Add your company name and logo, check each commitment matches what your organisation does and edit any that do not, then approve and date the policy and share it with workers and anyone else who needs to see it.
Who Needs a Behavioural Management Policy?
Any employer that wants one short statement covering bullying, harassment, aggression and victimisation.
Works with the Harassment Risk Assessment
The RA-HS70 Workplace Harassment and RA-HS115 Violence and Aggression at Work risk assessments cover the risks behind the policy.
Document Control
The footer carries the policy number and title, information classification, version and page numbers, and the approval fields record who approved the policy and when, so it can be controlled with the rest of your management system documents and listed on a document register such as the F-IMS20 Document Register.
